Eight students from universities across the country have been selected for 10-week business journalism internships at major media outlets in summer 2009, the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism announced today.
The students were selected by the host organizations in conjunction with the Reynolds Center, which funds the internships designed to help improve the quality of U.S. business journalism.
The students, universities and host media outlets are:
“The success and productivity of our 2008 business journalism interns indicated the continued relevance of covering the economy and business effectively in turbulent times,” said Andrew Leckey, president of the Reynolds Center, which is based at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. “The quality of work and the relationships built in newsrooms are of benefit to hosts and students alike.”
The interns placed at The Arizona Republic and the Phoenix Business Journal are shared with the Reynolds Center’s BusinessJournalism.org content development team.
